Medical Qigong Practitioner Diploma #01

Medical Qigong Practitioner Diploma in Staffordshire, Somerset, London and Wales

The way in which Qi (universal energy) manifests can mostly be identified in the seasons of Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Autumn and Winter. The energy expands and uplifts to later contract and ground.

This is a cycle that not only manifests in nature (Macrocosm) but in everything living (Microcosm). The way in which people can remain healthy is by living in accord with what is 'natural,' therefore allowing more time to rest in Winter (when everything is still and contracted) and more time for activity in Summer (when Qi is at its maximum). But, how often do we feel 'out of sink?' Possibly on a daily basis and before we know it we suffer with some kind of dis-ease whether on an emotional, mental or physical level. Medical Qigong can help you to re-align with nature as it is both a preventative and self-healing system incorporating breathing, visualisation and physical exercises to balance Qi. Considered the most ancient branch of TCM, Medical Qigong is practised in many hospitals in China. As Medical Qigong Practitioners you will be diagnosing and prescribing treatment plans (Dao Yins) to patients.

Medical Qigong Certificate

The Medical Qigong Course will be held at Mandarin College in the middle of Newcastle under Lyme. It is an eco friendly centre promoting a healthy environment.

What inspired the Medical Qigong Certificate Course?
Historically, Grand Masters of Medical Qigong handed down their knowledge and ancient skills to exceptional students. As such no formal qualification exists – even today! Nowadays the system is abused as some T’ai Chi teachers start teaching Qigong after only a few months of training. Medical Qigong is NOT T’ai Chi and is NOT the type of generalised Qigong experienced in a T’ai Chi class. Medical Qigong is recognised as a Science. It is one of the four branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a valid complementary health system, rich in Taoist philosophy; it is creative and gives the learner the opportunity to take control of their own life – reflect and transform if that is what is necessary. Like any complementary health training, this course will be fun but intense. It is by no means a quick fix!

How do I know whether I am right for the Medical Qigong Certificate?
You might be a health professional such as an Acupuncturist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Social Services employee, a specialist nurse working in an M.S. or Parkinsons department in a hospital, or complementary therapist. Equally, if you want change in your life – have time to reflect and find a new direction then the course is right for you as long as you are willing to take ownership of that change. The course is not personal therapy – it is a learning environment with clear learning outcomes. The Medical Qigong Certificate will act as a credible course which forms the basis of the Medical Qigong Diploma. Basically, if you do not believe in energy this is not the course for you as you will ultimately learn how to channel energy to heal yourself.

How is the Medical Qigong Certificate structured?
The Medical Qigong Certificate Course will consist of 4 weekends throughout the year; one weekend per month. Learning in the teaching environment will consist of discussion, observation, conventional teaching, debate about the ancient Chinese proverbs and a quiz to identify whether outcomes are being met. In addition, you will be set two short 500 word assignments, and a reflective/season’s diary which will form part of your Summative assessment. A 90% attendance rate will be required to successfully pass the course.

What do I get when I complete the Medical Qigong Certificate course?
A ‘Mandarin Scholar’ Certificate issued by Mandarin College will be accredited by the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) clearly identifying that all of the learning objectives have been met. This is not a general certificate of attendance.

Will I be able to teach or practice after the Medical Qigong Certificate?
No! The Medical Qigong Certificate Course is the first component of the Practitioner Diploma. Those students who want to teach will need a Teaching Qualification, a degree in TCM and the Medical Qigong Diploma. Upon completion of the Medical Qigong Certificate you will be equipped with the knowledge and performance to manage your own health in these stressful times.
